Dr. Rosa María Stoops is a Professor of French and Spanish at the Department of English and World Languages, in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Stoops received her B.A. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh, her M.A. in French and Spanish from Mississippi State University, and her Ph.D. in Romance Languages from The University of Alabama.
At the University of Montevallo, Stoops teaches all levels of language acquisition courses in French and Spanish, as well as upper level courses in French and Spanish literature and culture, and literary theory. Her interests include the Medieval and Renaissance periods of French and Spanish literature, especially the works of Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.
