Emma Cole is a CPA with over 15 years of experience in external and internal auditing, financial accounting, financial reporting and analysis, managerial accounting, tax, payroll, governmental accounting, and accounting information systems. She began her career with PwC (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) as an audit associate. She received her BSBA in accounting from Auburn University and her MBA, with an accounting concentration, from Troy University. She is currently pursuing a DBA, with an accounting concentration, from Creighton University. In addition to her faculty role at Montevallo, she also serves as the managing director of an accounting firm, specializing in small business consulting and forensic accounting. She is active in several organizations, including the Alabama Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants. She also strives to give back to her community through various volunteer roles. Professor Cole is committed to supporting the success of the next generation of leaders. She asks herself four questions as she interacts with her students. Am I encouraging excellence? Am I serving the needs of my students academically, professionally, emotionally, and spiritually? Do my students feel like I care for them? Am I forming agents of change?
