My artistic journey began with writing songs and composing music at the
age of 11. I began experimenting with visual art during my student years at the University of Alabama as a means to express ideas in a more concrete way. I believe music helps one let go of reality while visual art pieces it all together. I like to explore what I call “the language in the middle.” As a musician, visual artist, culture producer and father; I combine these disciplines hand in hand with the belief that art can inspire change to propel society forward. I am fascinated by art’s ability to challenge perspective. This curiosity has led to a career as an arts programmer working independently through my pop-up interactive art event series, Vibes & Virtues and as a Program Manager for various institutions currently as the Manager of Public Programs at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Community building has become the center of my practice whether through murals, audio/visual, interactive, curatorial and/or programming. My practice is compound and social using community to focus similarities and harmonize differences.
